The Annual Flower Display Garden was the most colorful and popular part of the GBG. Through 2010, we tested more than 300 flowers each summer. The cultivars came from a variety of sources including retail catalogs, wholesale, flower breeders and the public.
We trialed flowers for three seasons to learn how well they perform in a variety of seasons. Data included quality evaluations, disease susceptibility, bloom times, fragrance and more. Those that received the best ratings make it to our "best of the best list". Because of budget cuts, trials were ended in 2010. Our massive list of seed starting dates and seed sources are available for download.
