The Georgeson Botanical Garden (GBG) is located at the far
western end of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus
at the UAF Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Fairbanks Experiment Farm.
Directions from Geist Road
to GBG
- Turn onto campus from Geist at the intersection of Geist and Loftus (south)/Morris Thompson Drive (north) near large UAF sign
- At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto West Tanana Drive.
- Continue West approx 0.7 miles. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are on the right just as the road bends to the right. Look for whte visitor's center and big red barn.
From College/University Avenue Intersection to GBG
From the intersection of College Road and University Avenue, enter the campus to the west (big UAF sign on your right). Drive past the main campus buildings and continue straight at the stop sign. (Careful- pedestrians have the right of way.) The next intersection is a traffic circle. Take the second exit onto West Tanana Drive. Continue west approx 0.7 miles. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are on the right just as the road bends to the right.
From the Parks Highway to GBG
From town drive west on the Parks Hwy past the Geist Road/Chena Pump/Chena Ridge exits and overpass. As you cross over the overpass, look to the north (right), and you will see farm fields and reindeer pens. Continue past the reindeer pens on the Parks and turn right on Sheep Creek Road Extension.
Drive over the railroad tracks.Turn right again onto West Tanana Drive. You will see a big UAF sign off to your left. Drive approx 0.5 miles on West Tanana Drive. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are just around the bend on your left. There is an entrance just beyond the reindeer pens.
From GBG to Robert White Large Animal Research Station (Musk Ox Farm)

1. From the GBG parking lot, make a right turn and head west on West Tanana Drive to Sheep Creek Road.
2. Go through the intersection (do not cross the railroad tracks). Continue on Sheep Creek until Miller Hill Road on your right. Turn right and go uphill until you come to Yankovich Road. Make another right on Yankovich.
3.Drive about 0.8 mile on Yankovich. Watch for large chain link fences on the left. Parking area is along the road.

Head east (toward main campus) on W Tanana Dr

At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Tanana Loop (the road goes diagonally up the hill)
- At the first paved road, make a hard right on Yukon Drive. Continue about 0.3 mile to Sheenjek. Turn left. The Museum is the white, pointy-shaped building to the east. Continue north on Sheenjek. Parking lot is beyond the museum on the right.
