The Georgeson Botanical Garden (GBG) is located at the far
western end of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus
at the UAF Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Fairbanks Experiment Farm.
Directions from Geist Road
to GBG
- From Geist, at the light head north on Thompson Drive.
- At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto West Tanana Drive.
- Continue West approx 0.7 miles. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are on the right just as the road bends to the right.
From College/University Avenue Intersection to GBG
1. From the intersection of College Road and University Avenue, enter the campus to the west.
2. Drive west past the main campus buildings. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto West Tanana Drive
3. Continue West approx 0.7 miles. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are on the right just as the road bends to the right.
From the Parks Highway to GBG
1. Driving south from town, take a right on Sheep Creek Road Extension (you will see the farm fields off to the right. Reindeer pens are on the right just before the exit. Turn right on Sheep Creek Road Extension
2. Driving north into Fairbanks from Ester, take a left on Sheep Creek Road Extension.
3. Drive over the railroad tracks
4. Turn right again and drive approx 0.5 miles on West Tanana Drive. The Fairbanks Experiment Farm and Botanical Garden are just around the corner on your left.
From GBG to Robert White Large Animal Research Station (Musk Ox Farm)

about 5 minutes
1. From the GBG parking lot, make a right turn and head west on West Tanana Drive to Sheep Creek Road.
2. Go through the intersection (do not cross the railroad tracks). Continue on Miller Hill until you come to Yankovich Road.
3Make another right. Continue on Sheep Creek Road until you come to Miller Hill Road, then take a right.
4.Drive about 0.8 mile on Yankovich. Watch for large chain link fences on the left. Parking area is along the road.

University of Alaska Museum of the North

Head east on W Tanana Dr

At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Tanana Loop (the road goes diagonally up the hill)
- At the first paved road, make a hard right on Yukon Drive. Continue about 0.3 mile to Sheenjek. Turn left. The Museum is the pointy-shaped building to the east. Continue north on Sheenjek. Parking lot is beyond the museum on the right.
